Packing list

Pack light and bring only what you need for a smooth move-in. Coordinate with your roommate(s) to avoid duplicates in your shared space. If you bring valuables (like jewelry or electronics), please note that ²ÝݮӰÊÓ is not responsible for loss or damage.

What not to bring

Window air conditioner units, microwaves, space heaters, candles, incense, halogen lights, adhesive LED strips, hoverboards, drones, and any real or toy weapons are prohibited. Nails, double-sided tape, duct tape, and other permanent adhesives are also prohibited. Pets are not allowed outside of small fish.

Storage

²ÝݮӰÊÓ does not offer summer storage. You must fully move out after the academic year, even if you return to the same space in the fall. Many students rent shared storage units or use pickup/delivery storage services. ²ÝݮӰÊÓ does not endorse or assume liability for any storage company.

Per the housing agreement, any belongings left on campus more than 10 days after move-out will be considered abandoned and may be discarded.

Housing application process

Campus housing requirement

²ÝݮӰÊÓ requires first- through third-year undergraduate students to live on campus, except for commuters, part-time students, married students, or those more than 21 years old. Commuters must live within 30 miles with family and must submit a commuter application for approval. Review the housing policy carefully—financial penalties apply for noncompliance.

How to apply

1. Get accepted to ²ÝݮӰÊÓ.
2. Set up your ²ÝݮӰÊÓ account.
3. Pay the $250 housing deposit.

Housing information and instructions will be emailed to your NPU account starting in March for those starting in the fall semester and October for those starting in the spring semester. You’ll receive your housing assignment after registering for your first-semester courses.

Housing deposit

Your deposit is held throughout your time at ²ÝݮӰÊÓ and refunded after graduation, minus any damage or service fees. Cancel before August 1 (fall) or December 15 (spring) for a full refund.

Roommate assignments

• Choose a roommate: Both students must request each other on their applications and submit deposits.
• Roommate matching: Residence Life matches roommates based on interests and habits, though it’s not guaranteed.

Assignment timeline

Apply by June 1 to get your housing and roommate info by June 15. Residence Life processes housing applications first in early June, then early July, and then Mid-July. Following July 15, Residence Life processes applications weekly. To check your assignment, log into Self-Service, go to the Students section, then the Campus Housing Information section, and select your start term.

Meal plans

Students in Anderson Hall, Burgh Hall, and Ohlson House must purchase a meal plan. Meal plans are optional for those in apartments and houses. Check current options and pricing on our dining page.
