Scandinavian Student Association

Don’t let the name fool you—the Scandinavian Student Association (SSA) gladly welcomes members of all backgrounds. All that is needed for membership is an interest in good Scandinavian food (lots of lingonberries and open-faced sandwiches). While many attendees at SSA events happened to be Scandinavian Studies majors or past and present Sweden exchange participants, the SSA willingly fills the plates of any and all students and faculty at their various events hosted throughout the year, including regular fika in student housing. (Who could turn down free pancakes? Be honest.)

And, in case you were wondering: Fika (fee-kah): n, v. To take a break to enjoy coffee and dessert with friends for any reason, or no particular reason at all.
